28.03.25 - Farm Visit!

I am excited to share with you the enriching experience our nursery children had during their recent trip to the farm. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to explore the world of growing, animals, and nature, and I wanted to highlight the importance of this trip and how it connects to our ongoing learning in the nursery.

During our visit to the farm, the children had the chance to engage with various animals, This hands-on experience sparked their curiosity. Engaging with the sights, sounds, and smells of the farm provided the children with rich sensory experiences that are essential for their development. They also got to touch the animals feeding them grass and holding the freshly laid eggs and even smelt some herbs that are growing in the allotment patch.

To support and continue this learning back in our nursery classroom, we have incorporated various activities that have built on their farm experience. We are reading books related to farms, animals, and nature, which helps reinforce the concepts they learned during the trip all about farm animals and the sounds they make.

The children have planted herb and salad seeds similar to ones we got to feel and smell at the farm we will be adding these into our home corner and mud kitchen.

Experiences like our farm trip play a crucial role in your child’s education, and we are committed to building on this foundation throughout the year.

28.02.25 - Farm Topic!

We’ve been busy exploring, playing and of course growing!

Heres a glimpse of our chick-tastic journey so far.

As part of our ongoing "Farm and Growing" topic, we have welcomed a delightful group of baby chicks into our nursery. These little bundles of joy will not only bring joy to our days but will also provide a wonderful opportunity for hands-on learning and exploration.

Why Baby Chicks?

The addition of the baby chicks ties beautifully into our current theme, allowing the children to engage with the concepts of life cycles, responsibility, and where our food comes from. Observing the chicks will help them understand the importance of farming and the role it plays in our lives.

We are so excited to embark on this journey with your children and hope it sparks their curiosity and love for learning about nature and farming.
